Bad Words
For this month’s U.S. movie release we have chosen a comedy with a language theme. Bad Words is about that splendid American institution, the spelling bee. This is a contest in which children win prizes for spelling the English language’s more difficult words. The film is directed by and stars Jason Bateman (pictured, with Kathryn Hahn and Rohan Chand).
He plays an adult who lost a spelling bee as a child. When he discovers that there isn’t technically an age limit for contestants, he decides to enact his revenge on other children...
