The Speak Up DVD this month is Monuments Men which stars George Clooney, who also directs, in addition to co-writing the screenplay. Clooney is a powerful figure in Hollywood and he was able to assemble an impressive cast: Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Downtown Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville and (one of the film’s few female characters), Cate Blanchett. It tells the story of a special platoon of American soldiers in the Second World War who rescue art treasures that have been stolen by the Nazis.
