We’re not sure what this sign means (click here to enlarge the image). It’s probably trying to tell us that the water is safe to swim in up to a depth of 1.50 metres. Usually flags or buoys (boe) mark out a dangerous area near a beach, although there is a phrase: “Unmarked safe water limit.” The problem is that “water safe” has another meaning. It could be a safe (cassaforte) where water is stored, at a depth of 1.50 metres! Our thanks to Fabio for the photo.
