This sign (left) was photographed on the Milan Underground’s otherwise perfect new “Line Five.” The city authorities dedicated a lot of time, energy and money to building the driverless line, but they should also have invested a relatively modest amount in hiring an English language consultant. That person would probably have suggested the words that can be found in this sign (below left).
