Aarrgghh!!! A boring bar?

Novembre 2014

Square Bar

This sign was spotted in Milan (Click here to enlarge the image). The bar in question is in a piazza or square and, presumably, the owners wanted to call it “il bar della piazza.” To make the name more chic they translated it into English. Unfortunately, the adjective square in both British and American slang means “boring” or “conservative,” and so this is a “boring bar!”

If you see English mistakes (in Italy, the UK, anywhere!) that make you scream “Aarrgghh!!!” take a photo (please make sure
it’s in focus!) and send it to redazione@speakupmagazine.it
We will publish the best (that is, the worst) both here and on our Facebook page.
