di ELCS - The English Language Consultancy Service
There are plenty of courses that combine English language study with sport, but artistic teenagers might prefer to dedicate their free time to more creative and less physical pursuits. Central St. Martin’s College of Arts and Design and the Language Centre, both part of the University of the Arts London, have joined forces to offer teenagers a course that combines 15 hours per week of language lessons with a variety of practical workshops, all in English, obviously. Students may choose between Art & Design workshops, which include drawing, painting, colour-theory and print-making, and Fashion Design & Styling workshops, which include fashion illustration, collage, garment customising and styling. The cost of all materials is included in the course fee. The only thing students need to bring is their imagination!
The tutors are from the University of the Arts London, but the course is held at the Royal Hospital School, a prestigious private boarding school immersed in the Suffolk countryside. Participants are accommodated in 2-4-bedded rooms and receive full board. The programme includes an excursion to London galleries and museums and a trip to Central St. Martins, as well as a full programme of evening activities.
