Extraordinary English! Courses with a Difference

Settembre 2012
Malta for the young at heart

di ELCS - The English Language Consultancy Service

Here’s something for mature students who are culture-loving and young at heart: spend between a week and a month studying English and learning about Maltese heritage and culture, Mediterranean history and cooking, arts, crafts and crusaders.
Activities each week follow a theme: the arts and crafts extravaganza week explores traditional Maltese crafts such as glass-blowing, filigree work, lace-weaving and wood-carving, and students are invited to try their hand and produce their own souvenirs to take back home.
Those more interested in history can learn about the Knights of Malta, the Crusaders and how St. Paul converted the Maltese to Christianity. And, for more energetic students, the scenic and heritage country walks week will take them “off the beaten track” to legendary, ecological or heritage sites. The courses are suitable for anyone whose English level is A2 or above, and take place in spring and autumn when the maximum temperature is around 25°C and the island is less crowded. NSTS, which has been teaching English in Malta for nearly 50 years, also offers accommodation in host families or residences.
